An overview is related to the following categories: detection and prevention, automated response, adversarial AI, data protection, risk assessment, privacy concerns. Looking ahead, the linkage between AI and cybersecurity will continue to evolve. Key areas of focus include: development of AI-driven security solutions, ethical AI-use, enhanced threat intelligence, human-machine collaboration. Overall, AI holds tremendous potential to revolutionize cybersecurity, but it also presents new challenges that must be addressed to ensure a secure and resilient digital environment. The relationship between AI and cybersecurity is multifaceted. AI technologies are increasingly being employed both to enhance cybersecurity defenses and to facilitate cyberattacks. In addition to the above key points, is to mention the cybersecurity skills gap: with the growing complexity of cyber threats, there is a shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals. AI technologies can help bridge this gap by automating routine tasks and augmenting the capabilities of existing security teams. Behavioral analysis is another important element: AI-powered systems can analyze user and network behavior to identify anomalies that may indicate a security breach. By understanding typical behavior, AI can detect deviations that might signal an attack. Overall, the relationship between AI and cybersecurity is complex and evolving. While AI offers significant opportunities to enhance cybersecurity defenses, it also presents new challenges and risks that must be addressed. Ongoing research and development are essential to stay ahead of emerging threats in this rapidly evolving landscape.Item An exploratory view on scholars’ affiliation to online knowledge networks in academia(Tritonic, 2021) Vătămănescu, Elena Mădălina; Stratone, Mădălina Elena; Alexandru, Vlad AndreiThe present paper is intended to explore several main factors which correlate with scholars’ affiliation to online knowledge networks in academia. The paper will offer a technical analysis on the evolution of Annual Traded Value Ratio (ATVR 12M) levels, Market Capitalization and Free Float Market Capitalization, (Mcap FF), of the Banca Transilvania, OMV Petrom, BRD Group Societe Generale, and Romgaz, companies that in 2017 were the main Romanian candidates to meet MSCI criteria. The paper will take into consideration data from January to December 2018. Based on the updated evolution, the paper is revealing what are the challenges and opportunities that are likely to influence the important Romanian companies’ economic evolution, as well as what measures could be taken to enhance the companies’ evolution and eventually lead them to reaching the minimum ATVR and Market Free Float Capitalization requirements imposed by MSCI. In 2018 a study was made analyzing these companies and the paper addressed the chances of the Romanian Capital Market to be upgraded to Emerging Market status. The study showed that increasing liquidity is the most difficult factor to be achieved by Romanian companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Romania has the potential to be upgraded to the Emerging Market status if at least three companies met the minimum requirements, including the Annual Traded Value Ratio, requested by the MSCI. Following a technical analysis using the MSCI methodology, it was found that until the first part of 2018 three companies met the ATVR target of at least 15%, such as Romgaz, Banca Transilvania, BRD Group Societe Generale. OMV-Petrom reached only 12.62%. The company needed an increase in the total volume of the total stock market to bring the ATVR level to at least 15%. As for recommendations, BRD Group Societe Generale needed to increase the Free Float market capitalization by 1.0534% that should reach the minimum required by MSCI USD, 763 mln until mid-2018. Another recommendation, by increasing offer by listing more companies on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and increasing demand by attracting as many retail investors as possible and improving financial literacy, trade volumes would consistently grow. Data was collected from the Bucharest Stock Exchange, Trading Statistics section, and daily reports. This was computed the Annual Traded Value Ratios for 12 months (ATVR 12M) and ATVR for 3 months (ATVR 3M) for each company. The candidate companies included Romgaz, OMV-Petrom, Banca Transilvania, and BRD-Group Societe Generale. The methodology used is in accordance with the MSCI standard calculations.Item Artificial Intelligence in modern policing : understanding the multifaceted impacts(Hungarian Association of Police Science, 2024) Ioan, AlexandruThis article comprehensively examines the multifaceted impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on modern law enforcement, considering stakeholders, societal implications, and results analysis. In this context, the paper comes with theoretical explanations on real-life based examples and applications. From a general perspective, the paper enriches its value with a wide discussion on the related subject. The paper aims to revise the volatilities’ estimation models and the correlations between the various time series and also by presenting the Risk Metrics methodology, as explained is a case study. The advantages that the VaR estimation offers, consist of its ability to quantitatively and numerically express the risk level of a portfolio, at a certain moment in time and also the risk of on open position (in titles, in FX, commodities or granted loans), belonging to an economic agent or even individual; hence, its role in a more efficient capital allocation, in the assumed risk delimitation, and also as a performance measurement instrument. In this paper and the study case that completes our work, we aim to prove how we can prevent considerable losses and even bankruptcies if VaR is known and applied accordingly. For this reason, the universities in Romania should include or increase their curricula with the study of the VaR model as an artificial intelligence tool. The simplicity of the presented case study, most probably, is the strongest argument of the current work because it can be understood also by the readers that are not necessarily very experienced in the risk management field.Item Assesing Romanian farmers’ motivation for digitalization: a Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology (UTAUT) based research model(University of Oradea, Faculty of Economic Sciences, 2024-03-15) Markovits, Paul ȘtefanThe digital agriculture adoption strive by farmers could be assimilated with the adoption efforts of the computer technologies (ICT) by their respective users in other professional fields. Therefore, this paper proposes the adaptation of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology (UTAUT) model to explore the motivations for the use of digital tools by field crop farmers in Romania. The history of TAM and UTAUT is explored as well as the usage of UTAUT2 and UTAUT3 in digital agriculture adoption studies globally. Furthermore, comparison is also made with other farmer studies based on a different research architecture conceived also to explore their motivations to use digital agriculture tools. The proposed model is building on the decades long research and validation of the UTAUT model, and it will be employed in subsequent quantitative studies to evaluate the Romanian farmers’ motivations to embrace the digital agriculture technologies and practices. The paper is the outcome of the individual research done by the author and it was enhanced following academic debates and conference presentations. It is deemed to have a dual applicability, as a field tool for academic research but also provides guidance for companies developing digital tools for farmers in Romania and beyond.Item B2B strategies and management practices in business internationalization in the digital transformation era(Tritonic, 2022-10-20) Biea, Elena AdrianaNowadays special attention must be attached to B2B management strategies and practices in order to expand businesses internationally, considering the new elements of global interest that have appeared with the post-COVID-19 period and the recent digital transformations. This research paper is a preliminary theoretical approach. More specifically, draw on the theories of different strategies and practices that will support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which intend to grow in international markets and strengthen their strategic relationships with partners and stakeholders from converging industries. The focus is especially on the methods and practices studied in order to internationalize businesses, whether we are talking about joint ventures, direct acquisitions, or strategic alliances. Moreover, the research aims to be a theoretical point of reference for managers, strategists, researchers, and organizations seeking solutions to accelerate business internationalization and push the business toward new profitable markets. At the macroeconomic level, when we refer to the internationalization of business, an area of interest in the competitiveness and expansion of B2B relations is represented by the role of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, the new 5G and 6G technologies that aim to bring a new dimension to the world we currently know. The technological process will generate huge differences in the efficiency of global organizations regarding the implementation of solutions based on artificial intelligence and edge computing. From this point of view, this research also approaches novel relationships, less studied in the specialized literature - the impact of these new technologies on the competitiveness of the business and on the expansion of businesses on the international markets.
