Item Expert-based assessment of the potential of agroforestry systems in plain regions across Bihor County, Western Romania(MDPI, 2023-11-08) Caradaică, Mihail; Apăfăian, Andrei; Budău, Ruben; Bratu, Iulian; Timofte, Claudia; Enescu, Mihai CristianAgroforestry systems are gaining increasing attention worldwide due to their several benefits both for landowners and also for the environment. Even though Romania has a great potential for adopting these systems on a large scale, only a few examples exist. The aim of this research was to highlight the main agroforestry systems that could be introduced in plain regions across Bihor County, Western Romania. A selection of the most suitable woody species and cereals was carried, based on available data and information. In order to select the most suitable combination, a set of eight criteria was considered and an Analytical Hierarchy Process Analysis was performed, with the aid of the Expert Choice Desktop (v. 11.5.1683) software package. The combinations that had the black locust as the main tree species scored better in comparison with the ones that had pedunculate oak as a main species. This research should be regarded as a first and important step in the analysis of several combinations of agroforestry systems that could be implemented across plain regions of Bihor County. Lastly, this proposed model could be replicated in similar studies aimed at selecting the most suitable agroforestry systems for certain sites. Future research should also consider criteria that account for various aspects, including the functional relationships of these future green spaces with nearby areas.Item The perspectives of the public policies and programs evaluation system in Romania in the context of implementing the National Recovery and Resilience plan(National University of Political Studies and Public Administration - Department of International Relations and European Integration, 2023-12) Toderaș, NicolaeThe implementation of the Recovery and Resilience Facility boosts the EU’s power to transform Member States, especially in the field of public management. The conditioning of the Member States to link proposed investments in their plans in order to overcome the effects of the crisis generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, but also to boost the implementation of the Green Pact on structural reforms transforms this temporary instrument in the main driver for deepening European integration. In the case of Romania, one of the important results pursued as part of the reforms related to the public administration sector, correlated with those related to the reform of public finances, refers to the improvement of the planning system of public policies and programs in accordance with budgetary scheduling. In this context, it is expected that following the implementation of these structural reforms, the national system for public policies and programs evaluation will strengthen significantly. The article aims to discuss certain aspects related to the dynamics of the use of public policies and programs evaluations in various stakes specific to the public management sector. Thus, in the first part of the article, the dynamics of the institutionalization of the national system for public policies and programs evaluation is described and analyzed. In the second part, the strengthening premises of the national evaluation system for public intervention are analyzed as a result of the implementation of a package of structural reforms which are specific to strategic planning and public management.Item Sustainable success in Higher Education by sharing the best practices as a result of Benchmarking Process(Editura ASE, 2021-11) Ilie, Anca Gabriela; Maftei, Mihaela; Colibășanu, Oana AntoniaThe paper proposes to review the main benchmarking criteria, based on the quality indicators used by the higher education institutions and to present new indicators of reference as a result of the inter-universities cooperation. Once these indicators are defined, a national database could be created and through benchmarking methods, there could be established the level of national performance of the educational system. Going forward and generalizing the process, we can compare the national educational system with the European one, using the benchmarking approach. The final purpose is that of establishing a group of universities who come together to explore opportunities for benchmarks and best practices sharing on common interest areas in order to create a "quality culture" for the Romanian higher education system.Item Innovation in Retail: Impact on Creating a Positive Experience When Buying Fashion Products(Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business and Tourism, 2015-05) Vasiliu, Cristinel; Cercel, Mihai OvidiuInnovation in fashion retail is critical in order to ensure competitive advantage in a constantly evolving market, in terms of consumer expectations. The modern customer is mobile, permanently connected to the Internet, well-informed about international trends, mindful of the quality of products, but more price sensitive and less loyal to a brand. The shopping experience provided by retailers is a crucial factor in purchase decision, encompassing all these variables in a complex concept of exogenous variable. As retailers' efforts to provide excellence in shopping experience are focused on operating costs and thus on the profit margins, it is important to consider and identify which are the most relevant variables that form the perception of excellence for Romanian customers, so that retailers can innovate according to their expectations. The purpose of this article was to highlight the role of innovation in creating a positive experience for consumers buying clothes, shoes and accessories. The approach was based on the conduct of exploratory research. The research. represented by five original objectives and as many different working scenarios. resulted in the identification of thematic outlined exploratory opinions, exploiting a first investigation of its kind in Romania, less Pearson coefficients used in the analysis of ordinal variables or hierarchical, but quickly assessed using SPSS, version 21. As a pioneering research emphasis was on identifying potential associations and quantified correlations and less on rigorous delimitation of exogenous or endogenous quality in general, leaving room for future studies, sharper and with a higher degree of representation. Thus, we could highlight some useful aspects of the investigated retailers, by the dominant character of interested customers' opinions according to their volunteer responses. Consumers are accustomed to using the Internet to obtain information; they rarely express opinions on social sites about the purchased goods, and are willing to receive information about special offers of the stores on personal mobile devices since the entry into the stores. Customers would also welcome separate exposure areas in selling space, where they can find products in promotional campaigns. Therewith, we could outline a primary profile of the ideal salesperson on fashion products, less rigorous but relatively consistent.Item Analysing portfolio diversification opportunities in selected stock markets of North and South America and their impact on the textile sector: An empirical case study(National Institute for Research and Development of Leather Textiles-Bucharest, 2021) Birău, Ramona; Spulbar, Cristi; Hamza, Ajmal; Abdullah, Ejaz; Minea, Elena; Zulfiqar, Ali Imran; Cercel, Mihai OvidiuThis empirical study investigates the financial integration linkages among the sample stock markets of Canada, Mexico, United States (for both New York Stock Exchange, i.e. NYSE and NASDAQ), Panama, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Venezuela, Jamaica, Trinidad, and Tobago during the period from January 2001 to April 2019. International portfolio diversification has been an important subject of research in financial fraternity since the emergence of Modern Portfolio Theory in 1952. This study examines the portfolio diversification opportunities in the 11 stock markets of Americas.International diversification among stock market indices has proven to be fruitful in the past. Certain tests have been used to determine opportunities for diversification are correlation test, pairwise co-integration test, multiple co-integration test and granger causality test. The empirical results show that stock market indices share low correlation among other and they are not highly co-integrated whereas results of Granger causality test exhibit an unidirectional relationship among few stock markets in short run.
