Companies focus on these two elements to retain and acquire customers in a highly competitive environment. The relationship between authors and publishers has always been complex, with dynamics deeply rooted in the social and cultural environment. At the same time, the success of their collaboration significantly impacts the local creative and sociocultural landscape. It is essential to understand the factors that determine author satisfaction and ease of collaboration, both generally and industry-specific, to support the growth and development of the book sector. This paper analyzes the collaborative dynamics between authors and publishers using the Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) and Customer Effort Score (CES) metrics based on a survey of 133 authors from various literary fields and geographic areas in Romania. Just as most organizations nowadays, publishing houses need to establish a strong online presence through posts on social media platforms. As they are both economic and cultural agents, the messages shared by publishers on social networks imply a higher degree of social responsibility and their content is particularly important. The present paper aims to explore how Romanian publishing houses are communicating with their current and potential customers on social platforms. The posts on various social media such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, etc. from the last two months of 2022 and the first two months of 2023 are investigated through the content analysis research technique. As the book industry is strongly linked to the concept of knowledge, the analysis is performed from the perspective of the Theory of Knowledge Fields. In this complex, the present issue of Culture. Society. Economy. Politics proposes discussions on the evolution of the creative economies, having in mind that they are at crossroads around the world. Cultural and creative industries are increasingly more connected to concepts such as (social) innovation, sustainability, fairness, and wellbeing, being an increasingly more important part of both economies and societies. These evolutions led to the proclaiming of 2021 as the International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development, 2021. This UNCTAD initiative is aiming to highlight the complexity and value of creative economy, but also to promote sustained and inclusive economic growth, foster innovation, provide opportunities, generate benefits, ensure empowerment for all, as well as respect for all human rights (UNCTAD, 2019). After mapping the circular social enterprises, a quantitative investigation was developed. Four main dimensions were considered: personal traits, values and attitudes, personal motives, and externally linked motives. Regarding individual characteristics, the most favorable ratings were attributed to vision achievement, perseverance, and proactivity. Conversely, the least favorable assessment was related to the tolerance for ambiguity. When considering values and attitudes, the highest ranking was egoistic passion, while the lowest was associated with a desire for public recognition. In the realm of personal motivations, the most significant values were observed in the need for flexibility and independence, closely followed by a desire for personal security and new financial resources. Intriguingly, external motivations displayed an even balance between social and environmental concerns. For active circular social entrepreneurs in Romania, the primary drivers are rooted in their values and attitudes, with personal motives playing a relatively minor role. Consequently, this study underscores an altruistic profile and an entrepreneurial commitment equally directed toward society and the environment.Item Fashion joining online gaming and the Metaverse(Sciendo, 2023-07) Pătruți, Petra; Zbuchea, Alexandra; Pînzaru, FlorinaIn an era when targeting younger generations becomes more and more challenging, and classic fashion is starting to be seen as being outdated, the Metaverse and online gaming has attracted fashion brands' interest. Increasingly more fashion brands, such as Nike, Vans, Gucci, Supreme, Forever 21, Ralph Lauren, and NASCAR, are being present in the Metaverse and online games. The purpose of the study will be to bring some light on how the Metaverse might revolutionize fashion marketing communication for the younger and future generations. The paper also explores the customer benefits that the brands offer through the Metaverse and why the younger public tends to find this marketing type so appealing. The research directions investigate the relationship between fashion, Metaverse, and gaming marketing communications. It follows the perception of the audience, as also the benefits for organizations and consumers of games that include fashion brands. The qualitative analysis results showed that the gap between gamers and nongamers is becoming more and more narrow, as both consume the same type of content, and the benefits for organizations are worth the investment. For consumers, on the other hand, both advantages and disadvantages were highlighted as concerns for future generations. The study acknowledges why the younger generations invest so much time and money in the digital fashion world.Item Give or buy contexts and internet experience as a factor differentiating of readiness to provide different types of personal data in m-commerce(Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Center, 2021-06-30) Wozniak, Jacek; Zbuchea, AlexandraStudies show that privacy concerns are an important factor in m-commerce and m-buyers are often not ready to disclose private data to m-shops. An e-questionnaire survey was used to gather opinions in three groups – ca. 160 Poles, ca.160 Ukrainians and ca.130 Romanians, to study decisions of potential consumers concerning disclosure of personal data when downloading paid or free mobile applications in 3 different contexts: downloading an attractive app to their smartphone as a gift, as a promo purchase, or from a well-known brand. The study showed that different kinds of personal data have different fragility levels. The e-mail had the lowest level of concern, postal address a medium level, and ID and credit card numbers the highest. Context was also shown to change the kind of data respondents are willing to exchange for an attractive app. When the measure of internet experience was subjective to the length of internet use, people with higher internet experience were not found to be more unlikely to download an attractive app to their smartphone, if a condition of downloading it was providing personal identification data, in comparison with persons with low internet experience. When internet experience was measured by social norms (living in a country with a higher e-readiness index), persons with higher experience levels were less likely to download apps requiring the provision of personal data. The text ends with recommendations and suggestions for further research.Item Have banks been supportive during the COVID19 pandemic?(University Goce Delchev Shtip, 2021-08-15) Marcu, Roxana Mihaela; Zbuchea, AlexandraThe COVID-19 pandemic has had disrupting and negative effects on economies and society. Nevertheless, it seems that it has contributed to increased solidarity, and determined individuals and organizations to be more responsible, at least concerning health-related aspects. Companies around the world have been involved in supporting the health care system and minimizing the impact of the pandemic on economies around the world. During the COVID-19 pandemic, companies were motivated by utilitarianism and deontological factors to get involved in philanthropic CSR actions in the toughest moments of the pandemic. Banks seem to be no exception. Even more, during this pandemic, banks have done much to rehabilitate their reputations, tarnished during the previous financial and economic crises. This paper aims to analyze the perception of the involvement of Romanian banks during the pandemic, especially for overcoming the crises of the healthcare system. The findings could guide banks to be more consistent and better communicate their CSR activities and involvement for the benefit of society, and helps understand how people observe and evaluate the CSR efforts of banks.Item How Customers Perceive Banks' CSR Initiatives(Universitatea "Stefan cel Mare" Suceava, 2022-08-18) Marcu, Roxana Mihaela; Zbuchea, Alexandra; Oprescu, ClaudiaThe pandemic context shows signs of stability. During these complicated times for all, banks were extremely vigilant toward the evolution of the sanitary crisis. Banks came up with quick solutions to protect the health of their colleagues and clients. And they have been open to adapting their strategy to the changing data from the field. This paper analyzes the perception of the involvement of Romanian banks in corporate social responsibility during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study reveals that the activity of banks during the pandemic, evaluated positive to some extent, does not significantly impact the level of trust in the banking system. The findings could guide banks from Romania to better communicate their CSR projects and impact on the community. Despite the difficulties brought by the pandemic, it is natural for banks to take a step forward and think about the way they will define their CSR strategy in the future. Altogether, our findings could help the banking system learn to be even more empathetic and understanding towards clients and to be present in the community. During the pandemic, banks have done much to rehabilitate their reputation, impacted by the previous economic crisis.Item Innovation in the book market retail : preferences among Romanian readers(Sciendo, 2022-07-12) Săniuță, Adina; Zbuchea, Alexandra; Hrib, BogdanToday’s dynamic business environment forces companies to differentiate more than ever and focus on gaining long-term competitive advantages through innovation.
