Item Romania’s capacity to plan and implement a sustainable development strategy(Springer, 2021) Ion, Oana Andreea; Done, Cătălin-GabrielThe transformations within the Romanian national sustainable development strategies are a part of the European agenda being a relevant subject of Europeanization. This chapter uses qualitative methodology to explore the consequences of implementing NSDSs in three areas – rural development, human capital, and social disparities. Using a top-down approach, we will offer an integrated model to the Europeanization of Romanian public policies, analyzing government actors’ capacity to implement sustainable development strategies while adapting to international development principles. Simultaneously, the three areas of analysis are incredibly relevant, as they can provide an integrated understanding of the issues Romania has faced in the last 30 years. Rural development, human capital, and social divisions are critical elements of public policies and significant interest factors to the European Union and the UN
